We at Marco Bratt Tattoo take great pride and care to give you the best and most artistic tattoo possible. As we have no control of how you take care of your tattoo once you leave our Studio, here are a few tips on how to take care of your tattoo while the healing process is taking place so your tattoo looks great forever.

  • Remove the plastic foil after 6 to 8 ours.
  • Wash the tattoo with not to warm warm (luke) water and a mild soap. Don't scrub it. Gently dry with a clean towel.
  • Apply a thin layer of ointment to your new tattoo but do not use perfumed, antibiotic or anti-bacterial ointments, as they may cause allergic reactions.
  • Cleanse your tattoo twice daily, using luke warm water and a mild soap.
  • Rebandage your tattoo after ointment during the first three days regularly. Make sure your hands are clean before touching your tattoo.
  • After the first three days, apply a thin layer of moisturizing lotion 4 to 6 times a day for the next 2 to 3 weeks. We recommend chemical free, unperfumed lotion.
  • Don't pick or scratch your tattoo. Flaking or peeling is a natural part of the healing process.
  • Don't soak your tattoo during healing. That means no baths, hot tubs, pools, etc.
  • Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight while it's healing.
  • After your tattoo is healed, always use sunblock while in the sun, preferably 30 to 45 SPF. And moisturize your skin with lotion. It'll help keep your colors fresh.
